Directions to parade:
Traveling West-bound on Highway 24, take Orinda exit off Highway 24 and then take the 2nd exit towards Moraga. Turn right at the end of exit onto Camino Pablo. The BART station entrance is on the right just under the overpass. This BART entrance leads directly into the Bart West Parking lot where pre-staging occurs.
Traveling East-bound on Highway 24, take the Orinda exit. Turn LEFT at the stoplight at the bottom of the exit. The BART entrance is under the overpass on the right. This entrance leads to the East Parking lot. Depending on how early you arrive and/or the mood of the traffic control officers, you will be directed to the West Parking lot. Parking in the East lot is discouraged, if not prohibited.
Schedule of events
- 9:00 am Float arrives in West Bart Parking Lot
- 9:00 am to 9:30 am. Decorate float (those who would like to help)
- 9:30 am All participants should have arrived. No banjo cases, music, music stands on float please!
- 9:40 am. Participants should be on the float, because the float will transition to the East parking lot around 9:45 am. If you are late, and don’t see us in the West Parking Lot, go to the East Parking Lot.
- ~9:45 am. Float will transition from the West Parking Lot to the East Parking Lot for parade launching.
- 10:00 am. Parade begins.
- End of parade ~ 11:30 am. Float driver will transport group on the float back to the BART West Parking lot. Unload your banjo and help remove decorations from the float. If you are able, help unload the hay bails.
Dress: Blue polo shirts. Tan pants. If you wear a hat we would like you to have a Straw “Boater” hat. Plastic or Styrofoam is fine. No baseball caps please.
